This privacy policy explains how Friends of Michael J. Hovis (the authorized campaign committee for Michael J. Hovis's candidacy for Trumbull County Commissioner) handles information you submit through this website. Questions? Use the contact page.

What we collect

When you submit the volunteer sign-up form or the contact form on this site, you provide personal information such as your name, email address, phone number (optional), and your town or township. That information is sent directly to our form provider (Formspree) and forwarded to the campaign's inbox. We do not store it on any server we operate.

We do not collect payment information through this website. Donation processing, if linked from this site, occurs on a separate platform with its own privacy policy.

We do not collect government IDs, Social Security numbers, or sensitive financial data through this website.

Cookies and tracking

This site does not use advertising cookies, marketing pixels, or cross-site tracking scripts. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand general traffic patterns (page views, referring sources). Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless, it does not fingerprint or track individual visitors across sites.

How we use your information

The primary purpose of collecting your contact information is to follow up on your volunteer sign-up or contact form submission, to confirm your participation, answer questions, or coordinate campaign activities. We may also use your email address to send campaign updates and election-related information.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for commercial marketing purposes. As a political campaign, your information may be used for campaign communications consistent with applicable Ohio law and Federal Election Commission regulations.

Third-party service providers

Form submissions are processed by Formspree (formspree.io). Formspree receives and routes the submission data to the campaign's inbox. Their privacy policy is available at formspree.io/privacy.

This site is hosted via Google Cloud Storage and served through Cloudflare. Standard server logs (IP address, request time, user agent) may be retained by those providers per their own policies.

Your choices

You may opt out of campaign communications at any time by responding to any campaign email with "UNSUBSCRIBE" in the subject line, or by using the contact form to request removal.

If you submitted a form and would like your information removed, contact us via the contact page with the subject "Data Removal Request." We will remove your information from our active records within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when it was last revised.
